Introduction to Coffee

Level: Introduction — open to coffee professionals and consumers, no experience required

Duration: Half-day, 9:30am–1:30pm (4 hours)

Group size: Max 4 students

Price: From 1,200 SEK without the SCA exam, or 1,600 SEK with the SCA exam and certificate (VAT included)

An SCA (Speciality Coffee Association) theory-based course giving new coffee professionals and consumers insight into the specialty coffee value chain. Covers history, farming, processing, roasting, sensory assessment and brewing, with guided tasting exercises to understand how decisions along the value chain shape the final cup. This is a theory course — there are no practical barista or brewing skills, just a short tasting session.

Certification: An optional multiple-choice exam (60% pass rate) at the end of the course leads to an official SCA certificate. Our course fee covers the SCA certification fee; a separate €25 SCA Student enrolment fee is payable directly to the SCA (registration details provided at booking).

Barista Foundation, Intermediate & Professional

Level: Foundation → Intermediate → Professional (Foundation must be completed first)

Duration: 1-day course, approx. 9:30am–3:30pm

Group size: Max 4 students (Foundation level)

Price: SCA Barista Foundation from 2,800 SEK, including the SCA Student enrolment fee for your first certification exam

The start of a career in coffee as a Barista Professional. Morning session: theory and knowledge development.
Afternoon session: practical skills and examination. In addition to a practical assessment on the day, a written exam is completed within 21 days of course completion.

Note: Intermediate and Professional levels require the Foundation course to be completed first.
