Inspiration
Inspired by the beauties of nature and the delicious sweet and refreshing taste of ripe coffee cherries and fresh cacao pulp, we could not help but feel filled with joy and sadness simultaneously, kind of an exhausting experience, almost like energy drained.
Specially when looking at the faces of the people in front of me whilst talking about the hardships and pains the experience day after day. How can we look somewhere else and not take action? It´s on us all. The universe reflects who we are so we need to move in the right direction if we want this world to be a better place for all.
In this new post release, you will discover that coffee cherry picking is about helping others along the way. Just like the kids along the road were looking for help to get some fruit for breakfast and Hernan climbed the tree to give those kids Nisperos truly sour and sweet little apricot like fruit, then adult pickers helped us to find, select and pick the best cherries for ensuring the best sweetness in our coffees! All our cherries were handpicked and processed by ourselves! It´s all about a healthy circle of giving and taking, not just taking like many in the coffee industry do. And, more importantly, ensuring that kids stay in school.
A new expression of Tonic Espresso but with the truly refreshing, tropical and naturally sweet and sour flavour of cacao-fruit offering a whole new sensory beverage experience! One-of-a-kind like everything we do :)
Our Quest has unveiled the happy secret to happy coffee. And, we did not discovery it. It has been around for millennia. The Mayas were people of the book and from their books, we learnt that they applied agroforestry and regenerative agriculture in their plantations. And, now, we saw the same practices carried out by Finca La Senda. We experienced Mayans honoring the practices of their ancestors. To us It was a moment of truth.
